Title

Black Athletes at W&L

Description

This collection includes a variety of documents relating to the History, Progression, and Stagnation within W&L Athletics Exhibit. Documents include roster photos, Calyx (W&L's yearbook) sports recaps, Ring-tum Phi articles, brochure photos, and more. It should be noted that many of the photos included here are not accompanied with roster lineups, and many of the black students at W&L did not have headshots within the Calyx, making it difficult to identify them by name in this archive. Thus, one must question if these student-athletes of color were not commemorated or considered valuable members of the university.
